We are pleased to announce seven new team members joined MACP in Q1 2022. Drawn from across the region, as well as nationally, the group brings a myriad of talents, perspectives, and abilities to the organization. Please join us in welcoming them to our team!
Jeannine Balfour, Program Director, Legacy Programs. Jeannine (she/her/hers) will lead MACP’s grantmaking work with eight Southern California organizations, along with one of its long-time grantee partners, Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). She comes to MACP with more than two decades of philanthropic experience, most recently as a Senior Program Officer with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation
Elizabeth Chua, Administrative Specialist, Office & Facilities. Elizabeth (she/her/hers) will provide administrative support to Office & Facilities, Information Technology, and Project Implementation including supply systems, mail services, schedule management, and expense/invoice administration. She most recently worked as an Outreach and Audience Development Associate at the Bach Society of Minnesota.
Rush Merchant III, Program Associate, Legacy Programs. Rush (he/they) will provide administrative, program, grant, and evaluation support for the Akaloa program, working with the team to ensure southern California grantee partners are supported in their efforts to work in and with the community. Rush comes to MACP with deep experience in philanthropy, most recently at the Minneapolis Foundation as a Grants Administrator.
Jason Mumme, Facilities Coordinator. Jason (he/him/his) will support facilities activities including managing ongoing needs, coordinating project activities, and partnering with contractors on building repairs and preventative maintenance. Jason’s background includes experience as Facilities Manager at area organizations such as Guild and YouthLink.
Allison Perales, Administrative Specialist, Human Resources. Allison (she/her/hers) will provide administrative support to the HR Team including calendar management, supporting the recruitment and on-boarding process, coordinating a variety of all employee events, and supporting benefits and compensation administration. Allison joins MACP from the American Academy of Neurology where she provided administrative support first as a Senior Trainee Education Administrator.
Evan Roberts, Communications Officer. Evan (he/him/his) will work with internal and external partners in the planning and development of key MACP communication strategies and initiatives. He joins MACP with nearly ten years of experience focused on the power of storytelling, most recently as Marketing Manager for Storytellers Project, part of the USA TODAY Network.
Terri Thao, Program Director, Local Initiatives and Opportunities. Terri (she/her/hers) will lead MACP’s local giving efforts, support other targeted grant portfolios, and work across domains with several long-term MACP grantee partners. She comes to us with over 15 years in community economic development and leadership development experience, most recently at Nexus Community Partners. Terri serves as a member of the Minnesota Housing Board, and as Board Chair of the F.R. Bigelow Foundation.
