In the second quarter of 2024, five new staff members joined Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies (MACP). Their experience, knowledge, and talent will contribute greatly to our mission, specifically to our Evaluation and Organizational Learning, Strategic Planning, Human Resources, and Finance teams.

April Harayda, Administrative Specialist, Strategic Planning. April (she/her) provides administrative support to the Strategic Planning team with coordinating senior leadership meetings, assisting with board travel and committee meetings, and planning events, including MACP’s annual Founder’s Day. Prior to MACP, she served in administrative roles at organizations including Ameriprise Financial, CenturyLink, and Ally Financial. April attended the University of Minnesota in the Housing & Apparel Department, studying Graphic Design.
Jouapag Lee, Evaluation and Organizational Learning Officer. Jouapag (she/her) supports the Evaluation and Organizational Learning team to steward equitable evaluation and learning practices through collaborative consultation, facilitation, technical assistance, and project management to generate new insights and improve grantmaking and organizational performance. Prior to MACP, she worked for Frontline Solutions, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, and Wilder Foundation. Jouapag has a master’s degree in nonprofit management from the University of Oregon and a bachelor’s degree from Winona State University.
Abdi Mohamed, Accounting Clerk. Abdi (he/him) is part of the Finance team, where he is a key contributor to recurring activities within Finance operations, including invoice and expense report processing. He supports multiple key Finance processes throughout the year, including gathering investment and peer reporting data to support annual budget, tax, and audit processes. Prior to his role as Accounting Clerk, he was a MACP summer intern. Abdi recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Augsburg University.
Cameron Reeves, Manager, Talent Acquisition. Cameron (he/they) is part of the Human Resources team, where he manages the process of acquiring new staff for the organization, handles internal moves and succession planning for career development, and assists hiring managers in building and developing dynamic and skilled teams. Prior to MACP, he was Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Greater Twin Cities United Way. Cameron has a bachelor’s degree in musical theatre from Drake University and holds a Senior Certification from the Society for Human Resources Management.
Mary Xiong, Manager, Tax and Investment Accounting. Mary (she/her) is part of the Finance team, where she is responsible for tax reporting and investment accounting activities associated with MACP’s diversified investment portfolios. Prior to MACP, Mary was Accounting Manager at Thrivent Financial and Tax Manager for Ernst & Young. Mary is a Certified Public Accountant and has a master’s degree in accounting and bachelor’s degree in business administration – accounting from the University of St. Thomas.
