In the third quarter of 2024, five new staff members joined Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies (MACP). Their experience, knowledge, and talent will contribute greatly to our mission, specifically to our Human Resources, Legal, Arts & Cultures, and Disaster Relief & Recovery teams.

Judith Aminmentse, Manager, Human Resources Partner. Judith (she/her) is a strategic thought partner and resource for coaching and guidance across people-related matters. She also provides employee, team, and organizational development, performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, talent acquisition and onboarding, and change management. Prior to MACP, she worked for First Children’s Finance, YMCA, and The Salvation Army. Judith has a master’s degree in business administration from Hamline University and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Amsterdam School of Business.
Alicia Fairfield, Program Officer, Disaster Relief & Recovery. Alicia (she/her) leads development and implementation of the Disaster Relief and Recovery team’s international grantmaking that covers Bangladesh, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Prior to MACP, she worked for Mercy Corps, the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), and the American Red Cross. Alicia has a master’s degree in international education from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Indiana University – Bloomington.
Sarah Mayer, Administrative Specialist, Legal. Sarah (she/her) provides administrative support to the Legal team. Prior to MACP, she spent nine years with the Minnesota State Bar Association, the state’s largest association of judges, lawyers, and legal professionals. She is also a professional photographer, photographing a dozen weddings each year. Sarah has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, and an art minor from Cedarville University in Ohio. Sarah also studied at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA.
Cheryl T. Schiele, Program Director, Arts & Cultures. Cheryl (she/her) oversees MACP’s program strategy in the focus areas of Folk Arts & Cultures, Native Arts & Cultures, and Music Education. Prior to MACP, she worked for the National Endowment for the Arts, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Bargemusic Ltd., and the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. Cheryl has a degree in music and a concentration in the music industry. She served as a founding board member of the Network for Diversity in Concert Percussion and board Vice President of Dorian Baroque Orchestra.
Dani Stein, Senior Human Resources Partner. Dani (she/her) provides HR solutions, guidance, and coaching to employees and managers across various people-related matters. She manages MACP’s coaching program, onboarding partner program, reboarding support for all leaves, tuition reimbursement, internship programs, mental health and wellness initiatives, and talent development work. Prior to MACP, she worked for Normandale Community College, and Katapult Network. Dani has a master’s degree in human resource management from Wichita State University and a bachelor’s degree in women’s studies from Hamline University.
